Iron Blight is a short, first-person survival horror game about crossing Prasnova to find Valeria while ammunition, health, food, and inventory space remain scarce. This Iron Blight Wiki organizes help by the problem in front of you: use the location pages for route guidance, the Punch Card page for that specific progression item, and the equipment pages when you need a weapon, attachment, or tool. The game released for Windows PC on Steam on August 24, 2026.
The fastest starting points are the St. Toma Dormitory walkthrough, the Prasnova route guide, and the key item checklist. Players deciding whether to buy or install the game can instead open the review, gameplay overview, or safe download guide. Every page separates confirmed store facts from observations taken from completed playthroughs.
What kind of game is Iron Blight?
Iron Blight is developed by Ronesans Interactive and published by Rock Paper Publisher. The official Steam description places the player in a cold, rain-soaked Eastern Bloc town after the state has collapsed; the immediate goal is to survive the night and find the protagonist's wife, Valeria. It is a single-player Windows game with 22 Steam achievements and 11 supported interface/subtitle languages.
The design is intentionally physical. There is no conventional always-visible health or ammunition display, magazines are checked manually, reloads happen through deliberate actions, and carried equipment occupies a limited grid. Gunfire can attract more danger, so a weapon solves one problem while potentially creating the next one.
Where should a new player begin?
Start by learning how Iron Blight communicates information. Check a magazine before entering a new room, observe the character rather than waiting for a HUD warning, and keep at least one practical healing option accessible. Open the inventory only in a defensible place; reorganizing a backpack while an enemy is close is rarely worth the extra box of ammunition.
The opening route moves from the Dimitrov Residence into St. Toma Dormitory, where the first major set of weapons, tools, and progression gates appears. The OTs-48K and TT-33 are available very early, followed by the Lead Pipe, TOZ-34, Medium Backpack, Hammer, TT-33 Laser Sight, Bolt Cutter, a gate key, and the Car Battery. The Dormitory guide puts those pickups in route order so you can avoid repeated trips through already cleared rooms.
How progression works
Iron Blight uses keys and physical tools instead of a simple objective marker for every locked path. The Bolt Cutter, Car Battery, Crowbar, Spade, Circuit Board, Connector Key, Workshop Alley Key, Punch Card, Blowtorch, Pump Gauge, Drive Belt, and Jerry Can all appear along the complete route. Some are mandatory progression objects; others share a room with optional weapons, attachments, or backpack upgrades.
When a route appears closed, re-read the current objective and inspect nearby interactable surfaces before assuming the game expects combat. A tool may be used automatically at a valid target, while a named key normally belongs to a specific district or door. If an interaction still fails, update the game and reload a recent save: the first post-launch patches specifically addressed several puzzle and progression blockers.
Weapons and combat essentials
The observed full-game arsenal includes the OTs-48K, TT-33, TOZ-34, PP-91 Kedr, RMB-93, OTs-20 Gnom, and SR-3M, plus melee options such as the Lead Pipe and Club. The weapon guide explains acquisition order and practical roles without pretending that every firearm should be carried at once. Limited inventory space makes ammunition compatibility and the next area more important than collecting a large armory.
Iron Blight rewards controlled shots and safe exits. Confirm a target is still dangerous before spending another round, remember that a downed enemy may not be permanently neutralized, and avoid firing only to create space when a door or corridor offers a clean retreat. Manual reloads are part of encounter planning, not an animation to begin after an enemy reaches you.
Inventory and backpack priorities
The grid-based inventory turns every pickup into a tradeoff. A long weapon, spare magazine, healing item, food, and progression tool all compete for the same finite space, so the most useful loadout changes with the objective. The inventory guide explains how Medium and Large Backpacks change that calculation and how to keep a compact emergency kit.
Do not discard a named progression object merely because it has not been used immediately. First return optional ammunition or duplicate supplies to storage, then make room for the route item. Once a tool has clearly completed its only marked task, reassess it at the next safe point rather than carrying every object to the ending.
Puzzles and the Punch Card
The Punch Card is found late in the Prasnova workshop sequence, on a green workbench in a brick industrial room. It appears after the PP-91 Kedr Extended Mag and before the Blowtorch in a complete all-weapons route. The Punch Card guide shows the room, the approach, the next pickups, and the recovery steps if the interaction appears stuck.
This is a location-and-use problem rather than a universal numeric code. The important step is to collect the physical card and keep it available for the matching machinery. Patch 1.01 included a fix for a Punch Card puzzle issue, so an unresponsive sequence on an older build should be tested again after Steam finishes updating.
How long does a run take?
Three publicly available full-game videos checked on August 31, 2026 run for 2:35:31, 2:39:51, and 3:00:32. Those are efficient, recorded routes rather than a reliable average for a first blind playthrough. Expect roughly 2.5–3 hours when following a route closely, about 4–6 hours when exploring and solving puzzles independently, and longer if you pursue missed equipment or replay on a harder setting.
The How Long to Beat guide explains the evidence and the limits of that estimate. It does not reuse HowLongToBeat records for similarly named games such as Iron Lung or While the Iron's Hot, which were present in the raw search material but are unrelated to Iron Blight.
Current version and fact-check status
This English wiki was checked on August 31, 2026 against the official Steam store, official Steam announcements, and complete gameplay footage listed in the supplied research material. Steam Patch 1.02 was released on August 28 and followed the launch hotfix and Patch 1.01. Because enemy behavior, save loading, maps, objectives, and progression interactions have already changed, route pages include a verification date instead of presenting launch behavior as permanent.
This is an independent fan project, not an official Ronesans Interactive or Rock Paper Publisher publication. Use support@ironblightgame.wiki to report a route error, mislabeled item, or version-specific difference, and include the game version plus the objective shown in your save.
